DESCRIPTION:An ACEC/MN Workshop Series for Younger Professionals\n\nACEC/MN will once again be holding a workshop series titled "Consulting Engineering Fundamentals\," designed to give younger and/or newer engineers some insight into the business side of consulting engineering. Led by seasoned consulting engineering professionals\, the series looks beyond nuts and bolts engineering to subjects not often taught in engineering school to give these younger/newer engineers an introductory education into a variety of areas.  \n\nWho should attend:\n\nMost participants are employees of ACEC/MN member firms (mechanical/structural/electrical engineers\, EITs\, drafters\, technicians\, etc.) with up to six years of experience. \n\n\nWORKSHOP SERIES SCHEDULE:\n\n\n\nWorkshop #1   Overview: The Big Picture & Working with Clients                                                     \n\nIncludes topics such as what consulting engineer's do\, opportunities within a CE firm\, the role of a consulting engineer in society\, professional registration\, how each part of the project fits into the overall time and money budgets\, what owners look for in people to advance to management/leadership positions.
