DESCRIPTION:Document Retention and Document Recovery are critical legal and administrative issues for design professional firms. Real world examples of threats and hazards that can impact an organization will be given and how to guard against or recover from these experiences. We'll discuss items to consider in creating\, maintaining\, and testing a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan.  Our panel of presenters will discuss and provide real word experience on the following: \n\n \n\n	Applicable statutes of limitation and repose and how they inform design professionals on how long to keep records\, \n	Applicable rules on and potential sanctions for not maintaining documents and records both before and after knowledge of a claim\,\n	Examine risk management issues regarding document retention and best practices on what documents should be maintained in archives\,\n	Options on methods to store documents for ease of recovery\n	Developing and maintaining a Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery Plan.\n\n \n\nPresenters: Holly Newman is a shareholder at DeWit Mackall Crounse & Moore\, SC.  Her practice is focused primarily in the area of construction litigation.  Newman has successfully litigated all manner of cases involving design professionals\, including construction defects\, mechanic's liens\, professional malpractice\, construction site injury claims and architectural copyrights.
