DESCRIPTION:Ethics\, Responsibility\, and Leadership in Professional Practice\n\n \n\nEthical and responsible practice and sound leadership are the goals of a "professional practice."  Attendees will learn how to attain these goals personally and as a firm.  This course will bolster engineers' understanding of their rights\, as well as their responsibilities\, under the MN Rules on professionalism and ethics.  Attendees will learn how to model and practice good and ethical leadership in their firms and how to strengthen their practice by identifying and avoiding ethical problems that can lead to discipline as well as professional liability.\n\n \n\nLearning Objectives:\n\n\n	Professional Engineering Ethics \n	The Licensed Professional Engineer's Responsibilities and Ethical Obligations\n	Identifying\, Handling\, and Avoiding Ethical Dilemmas in Practice   both in the office and in the field\n	Merging Ethical Leadership and Professional Practice \n\n\n \n\nPresenter:  Attorney Kristine A. Kubes is principal of Kubes Law Office\, PLLC\, serving design and construction professionals.  Kristine helps clients strengthen their businesses.  She concentrates her work on design defense/ litigation and proactive counseling during the project.  Services include defending clients against professional liability and general liability claims\, addressing and cooperatively resolving project-management\, risk-management\, and payment issues\, prosecuting mechanic's liens\, and entity set-up.  Integrated with her construction practice\, Kristine is a qualified neutral who mediates construction and design disputes during and after the project. Kristine serves on the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry\, is past-chair of the Forum's Design Division\, and served as a public member on the MN Board of AELSLAGID from 2006-2013\, during which she served two terms as Board Chair.
