DESCRIPTION:The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) is constructing a new 5\,000-space parking structure in Terminal 1 Lindbergh at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The structure will accommodate growth in airport operations and public parking demand. The project included demolition of portions of existing infrastructure\, and construction of an eleven-level parking structure\, a rental car customer service building\, a transit center\, and other supporting infrastructure\, all while maintaining operations of the airport and the LRT station over which the parking ramp is located. \n\n\n\nThis project is one of the largest infrastructure improvement projects that the MAC has ever undertaken. She plays a critical role as a decision maker in the design of the projects and continues to play a vital role during construction of the new parking structure. \n\n\n\nBen Henderson\, Kimley-Horn and Associates\, Inc.\, serves as MAC's on-call Landside / Transportation Consultant\, and is serving in many roles on this project\, including program manager\, planner\, civil engineer\, structural engineer\, parking consultant\, traffic engineer\, and landscape architect. Ben has over 13 years of experience providing these services\, with over 11 of those years serving the MAC. With the support of a large\, talented team of people\, Ben helped lead the design\, and is managing the design team during the construction phase of the new parking structure.
