SUMMARY:Standard Installations for Concrete Pipe ? What you Need to Know
DESCRIPTION:The Minnesota Department of Transportation will soon modify the way it specifies concrete pipe bedding for storm sewers and culverts. MnDOT will no longer specify Marston-Spangler beddings (i.e. Class B\, C\, etc)\, opting instead for a "Standard Installation" as explained in ASTM C1479. \n\n \n\nThis is a must-attend presentation for consulting engineers doing work for MnDOT\, municipalities and county highway departments. You'll learn more about:\n\n \n\n	What is a Standard Installation?\n	History: bedding and haunch research\, SPIDA testing\, ASTM C1479\n	Similarities & differences between Marston-Spangler beddings and Standard Installations\n	How to use ACPA's new Standard Installation fill height tables to determine appropriate pipe strength class (Class II\, III\, IV or V) for your project\n	Software design example using PipePac design software and Standard Installations complimentary software is available to attendees\n\n \n\nSpeaker: A 1988 Civil Engineering graduate of Iowa State University\, Jason Kruger has worked his entire 27 year career in the concrete and cement industries. As Technical Resource Director for the Minnesota Concrete Pipe Association (MnCPA)\, Kruger educates Minnesota civil engineers\, design technicians and field inspectors on proper design and installation of storm sewer and culvert pipes. Additionally\, Kruger partners with Minnesota DOT\, cities\, counties and consulting firms to improve their storm sewer and culvert design standards and specifications.\n\n \n\n This program is free to ACEC/MN members \n\nLunch is being provided by LafargeHolcim Inc.
