Description
Is lack of confidence one of your biggest obstacles in the workplace? Do you apologize for having an opinion or feel like an imposter in some situations? In this session we’ll take a look at ways to build confidence and credibility no matter where you are in your career and no matter who’s at the table. We plan for you to leave this event feeling positive, motivated and with actions you can take.
Presenter Bio: Andrea Schokker, P.E., LEED AP, PhD, is currently the Interim Dean of the Swenson College of Science and Engineering and Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). Dr. Schokker has served in numerous leadership positions in academia and in professional engineering organizations. She was the founding Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering and then the Executive Vice Chancellor at UMD from 2012-2016 with oversight of all academic programs and institutes and oversight of a budget of over $150 million. She has served as chair of several large technical committees in the American Concrete Institute (ACI) including Prestressed Concrete, Sustainability and several others. She is a fellow of ACI and a past Board of Directors Member.
